Terms of Service

The rules of using ChatAve: what the service is, what you may and may not do in a stranger chat, how coins work, and where liability lines sit.

Say hi to a stranger →

The agreement in one paragraph

These terms govern your use of ChatAve, a text-first 1v1 stranger chat. By using the site you accept them. They exist to answer four questions honestly: what the service is, what you’re allowed to do on it, what happens when someone misbehaves, and what we are and aren’t responsible for.

What the service is

ChatAve matches you with a random stranger for a private conversation that starts as text and can move to voice or video by mutual choice. Matching is random, conversations are 1v1, and the other person is an independent user — not an employee, contractor, or representative of ChatAve. What a stranger says or does is their responsibility, not ours.

Who may use it

ChatAve is for people who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction. By using the service you confirm that this is true for you. One person, one behavior standard: if your access is removed for breaking these terms, coming back under a new identity is also a violation.

Acceptable use

Talk to strangers, be a person, keep it legal. You may not harass, threaten, or defraud other users; record or redistribute another user’s image, voice, or messages without their consent; impersonate anyone; run bots, scrapers, or automated matching scripts; advertise or solicit; or attempt to probe, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service. The community guidelines spell out the conversational standard in plain language.

Enforcement

Skip ends any chat instantly, and reports go to human review. We may warn, suspend, or permanently remove access for violations, with or without notice, and repeat offenders lose access to the matching pool. Some violations — fraud, exploitation, anything endangering minors — get reported to the relevant authorities where the law requires it.

Coins and payments

ChatAve is free to start: matching and your first sessions cost nothing. Coins are a virtual balance you can buy for longer sessions and extras. Prices are shown in USD before purchase, payments run through third-party processors, and coins have no cash value — they can be spent inside the service but not withdrawn, transferred, or refunded except where the law says otherwise.

Content and recordings

You own what you say, and you grant the service the minimal license needed to transmit it to your match in real time. You do not own anything the stranger says or shows, and you may not capture, keep, or share it. Assume the symmetric risk on your side: anything you type or show could be captured by the other person, so share accordingly.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise uninterrupted availability, a particular match, or a particular outcome from any conversation. To the extent the law allows, ChatAve is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, for the conduct of users, or for content a stranger sends you. Nothing in these terms limits liability where limitation is not permitted.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the current version always lives on this page, and continuing to use ChatAve after a change means you accept it. Questions about the terms go through the contact form — or, if you’d rather just see the service these rules describe, start a stranger chat and read them again later.
